What you will learn

  • Workshop safety standards and best practices
  • Measurement, marking, layout, and accuracy habits
  • Essential hand tools: saws, chisels, drills (correct handling + control)
  • Core joinery foundations (including lap joints / mortise-and-tenon principles)
  • Fundamental machine operations and safe workflows
  • Construction fundamentals: squareness, alignment, assembly, finishing basics
  • Wood as a material: grain direction, stability, and wood movement

What you will make

  • A foundational hand-tools project (e.g., breadboard / serving board/toolbox)
  • A machine-focused furniture project (e.g., bedside table)
  • All projects are take-home pieces.

Schedule & booking

  • Session duration: 8 hours each module, divided in two sessions.
  • Days available: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday
  • Purchase first, then book modules from the published calendar as dates open

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 16+ (under 18 requires a responsible adult in the machine room)
  • Closed-toe shoes and appropriate workshop clothing
  • A small personal tool kit is mandatory (suggested kit list will be shared)
  • Once started, Foundations must be completed within 4 months
  • Extension: one extension is allowed for AED 500 (subject to scheduling availability)

Policies

  • Programs are non-refundable. One free reschedule is allowed if requested more than 24 hours before the session.
  • Further changes, or changes within 24 hours, incur an AED 150 rebooking fee.
